Learning to make your mark and silence that inner critic

Learning to make your mark and silence that inner critic

Over 2019 I had been struggling with the consistency that was needed in writing a weekly blog.

It wasn’t until I started to listen to the enlightening ‘Art Juice’ Podcast that the penny dropped. A blog is so much more than just upping the spiders to catch you in the big SEO web. It’s a great way to keep a digital record of where you are in your creative journey. The bonus is having access to it all safely kept on my website.

So no more exuses…

After doing one of my own workshops Reflect and Intent I visually looked back on my first year in business. I now understand that the growth of my business is in line with the growth of me as a person.

I am my business! As I am learning and changing so to are my attitudes to others and myself. I am choosing and being open to how and who I choose to work with over the year.

I’ve been learning and enjoying that you have to give it away to keep it! I still have to earn a living but I am enjoying encouraging and sharing ideas and techniques with others. I’ve been looking for work collaborations and people who I can have an honest and authentic collaboration with who are in line with my goals.

Small business networking

Accountability buddies & friends

Set goals with your friends

I reached out and found two accountability buddies who I love meeting and checking in once a month. We are accountable to our own monthly goal and check in to see how our months have been over a cup of tea and cake.

I’ve also chosen a couple of charities that I’m so happy to be working with. I feel privileged to be working with Winchester Young Carers where we will be workshopping with art journaling as a tool to help them unload their daily stresses of being a young carer.

‘Letting go with boundaries’ is allowing me to open the gates to meeting some lovely genuine creative fellows out there. I am excited about some University projects in London. Working with Uni students art journaling their stresses and anxieties of studying and helping with their wellbeing.

A year is a lot to catch up on and 2019 was the year of doing dozens of workshops some good and other a not so! 2020 is still about learning (that never stops!) collaboration and growth and MORE change!
